Marcella Hedrick, 88, of Defiance,passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center after a short battle with cancer.
Marcella was born in Paulding County on September 17, 1925, to the late Joseph A. and Margaret M (Weber) Siler. On November 15, 1947 she married John R. Hedrick, who preceded her in death in 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Defiance.
She is survived by a daughter Deborah (Marvin) Hageman of Defiance; a son,Dennis (Joan) Hedrick of Continental; and four grandchildren, Brent (Jenni) Hageman of Las Vegas, Nev., Brian (Jenni) Hageman of Wauseon and Curt Hedrick and Corbin (Ryan) Vennekotter , both of Continental. There are also four great grandchildren. She is survived by a brother , Cletus; special sister in law, Helen (Bunny) Delventhal and a very good friend, James Wallar, all of Defiance.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters, Verona Hohenberger, Dorothy Varner and Beatrice Lloyd and a brother, Victor Siler.
Marcella's wishes were to have no visitation. There will be a memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 18 at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Todd Dominique officiating.
Preferred memorials are to CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center or Dana Cancer Research Center at UTMC, Toledo, Ohio.
