Mae  Grimes, 80, of Ney, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on August 7, 1937 to Thomas and Ione (Gunter) Robinson in Tacoma, WA.  On February 4, 1960 she married Robert L. Grimes, who survives. Mae enjoyed bowling, traveling, the outdoors by way of hunting and fishing, and family activities.  She also volunteered at the PATH Center in Defiance.. Mae is survived by her husband, Robert L. Grimes of Ney, OH, 4 sons, Tracy (Tara) Grimes of Defiance, OH, John (Tina) Grimes of Defiance, OH, Dan (Gail) Grimes of Defiance, OH, and Phillip Grimes of Defiance, OH, 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, a brother, John Robinson of Tacoma, WA, and a Sister-in-law, Sandy Truscelli of Defiance, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 Brothers, 2 Sisters, and a Brother-in-law, John Grimes. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2018, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Max Begley, officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Second Baptist Church, Interim Hospice, or Donor's Choice.
