Mackenzie James "M.J." Moore, age 35 of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on July 17, 1986 to Larry and Jimmie (Pawgatoak) Moore in San Jose, California. MJ was a talented auto mechanic and worked at Sharp's Auto Care Center. He loved being outdoors, and enjoyed being a weather storm chaser. He had many hobbies which included dirt track racing, BMX bikes, crafts and photography. He cherished his time spent with his family and friends. MJ will be sadly missed by his father, Larry (Heidi) Moore of Napoleon, OH, his mother, Jimmie Moore of Defiance, and his three children; Brianna Lynn Moore of Payne, OH, Aaron Scott "Gump" Moore of Defiance, and Riley Moore of Kalida, OH. He also leaves behind his brother, Christopher James Fryer of Defiance, his sister, Lolen Wendy Daugherty of Washington, DC, and his "sister" Jennifer Zachrich of Defiance. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Janet Strickland officiating. Due to CDC guidelines, if you are not fully vaccinated a mask is required to enter the funeral home, and our lounge area will remain closed. Memorials are suggested to a Trust Fund for the children.
