Louella V. Rau, 90, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Holgate, Ohio. She was born on June 8, 1927 in  Arlington, Ohio. She was raised by Jessie and Frances Frayer in Melrose, Ohio. On February 28, 1945 she married Donald Rau, who preceded her in death on September 14, 2011. Louella is survived by her sons, Fred (Rachel) Rau of Continental, and Michael (Tracy) Rau of Defiance, daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Zinser of Georgia, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rau, and a son, Charles Rau. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
