Lois M. (Shock) Foster, 90, of Defiance, went to her heavenly father on Thursday, August 15, 2013, at 1:15 pm in Twin Rivers Nursing Care Center, Defiance.

She was born in Defiance, OH on August 17, 1922, the daughter of George and Edith (Bable) Shock.

Lois retired from Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where she was a Pediatrics Nurse for 14 years.  Besides her nursing career, she enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, gardening, her pets, church activities, and spending time with her family.

She will be missed by her daughters, Shirley Anese, Tiffin OH, Janice St. Clair, Amado AZ, Charlotte (Charlie) Dockery, Defiance OH, and Marie Hoover, Fremont OH,  sons, David Hoover, Lincoln MO, and George Hoover, Defiance OH, 26 Grandchildren, 55 Great grandchildren, and 21 Great great grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Gladys Meine, and Alice Corwin, brothers, Ventnor, John, Gerald, Earl, Gale, and George Shock, infant sisters, Rhae Elizabeth Shock, and Mary Elenora Shock, twin siblings, Louisa and Louis Shock, a daughter, Marlene Chaney, a son, Charles F. Hoover, a grandson, Matthew Conley, and her two husbands, Charles Hoover and Harry Foster.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.  Funeral services will be on held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 am in the funeral home, with Rev. Joe Graves officiating.  Burial will follow at Poplar Ridge Cemetery.
