Obituary

Lois M. Nagel Lois M. Nagel, age 66, of Defiance, died Tuesday night, April 14th, 2009 at Defiance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Defiance on December 21, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Agnes (Boff) Singer. Lois was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, CLC, a past CCD teacher and helped with the K of C bingo and fish fries. She graduated in 1963 from Mercy College, Toledo as a registered nurse. She worked in the pre natal department at Mercy Hospital and then worked as a registered nurse at Defiance Hospital from 1966-2004. She married John Robert "Bob" Nagel April 30, 1966 and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Judy (Steve) Murray of Toledo and Karen Nagel of Cincinnati, a son: Larry (Michelle) Nagel of Hoagland, Ind. Four grandchildren: Marissa and Megan Murray, and Leyna and Alexander Nagel. Six sisters: Clara (Don) Meyer of Defiance, Patricia (Ralph) Timbrook of Hicksville, Stella (Bob) Shininger of Defiance, Marilyn Oliver of Defiance, Freda Meyer of Defiance and Catherine (Jim) Snelling of Leo, Ind. Brother: Tony (Terri) Singer of Defiance. Preceded in death by a brother William Singer and her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Michael's Catholic Church at 10:00 on Saturday, April 18th, with Father Dave Tscherne officiating. Friends are invited to call Friday 2-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home and Saturday 9-10 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. A vigil service will be conducted at Friday. Interment at St. Michael's Cemetery followed by a lunch at the Jewell Community Center. Suggested memorials are to the Defiance Area Diabetic Club.
