Lillian Ada Miriam Fiddes, 88, of Defiance, passed away on  Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Glenn Park of Defiance.

She was born on July 26, 1925 to John Howard and Julia Smith in New Castle, England.  On February 21, 1947 she married Edward J. Fiddes and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Lillian was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and its Women's Guild and a member of the Defiance YMCA.  She was a secretary and a homemaker. Lillian  enjoyed swimming and spending time with her daughters. .

Lillian is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline King of Wilmington, NC,  Jeanette (Eric) Spiller of Defiance, OH, Julie (Tom) Hubba of Virginia Beach, VA, grandchildren, David (Melissa) Spiller of Engelwood, OH, Erica Spiller of Defiance, OH, Tom (Jessie) Hubba Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, and Andy (Lee) Hubba of Virginia Beach, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward J Fiddes and a brother, Ronald Smith.

Visitation will be held from 11-11:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. John United Church of Christ with the funeral service being held at 11:30 a.m.  with Rev. Robert Jenks officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the church.
