Leona M Frederick, 92 of Defiance passed away early Thursday morning, August 22, 2013 at the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born October 18, 1920 in Paulding County and was the daughter of Hayes and Eva (McMillen) Yenser.

Leona married Charles "Fuzz" Frederick in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1998. Also, she is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Wilbur, Herald & Emery Yenser, six sisters; Vera Simendinger, Nellie Price, Faye Link, Meril Bennet-Short, MIldred Thompson & Beatrice McLennan and a granddaughter Nikki Miller.

Lenona is survived by three sons; Norman (Rose) Tadsen of Defiance, Kenneth (Linda) Frederick of Archbold, Michael (Carol Ann) Frederick of Clear Lake, IN, 13 Grandchildren, 28 Great grandchildren, 11 Great great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Lila Yenser of Defiance.

She worked at Lords and Cato from 1962-1985, Francliff, Defiance and Frederick Gulf for 8 years as a bookkeeper. Lenona was a active member of St. John United Church of Christ, with the Women's Guild and Mittawanga. She enjoyed the MNO card club and the Defiance Senior Center.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 2 to 8pm in the Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.

Funeral service for Leona will be Monday, August 26, 2013 at 11:00AM in the St. John United Church of Christ with Rev. Robert Jencks officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
