Leo C. Sholl, 84, of Oakwood, OH, passed away March 2, 2022, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Leo was born on February 19, 1938, to Theodore A. and Estella A. (Link) Sholl in Paulding County, Ohio. He graduated from Oakwood High School in 1956 and served in the Army from 1961-1963. He met the love of his life, Janet Price, and they were married on May 12, 1962. Together they raised four children, Gery, Mark, Brenda, and Sara.
Leo spent his career as a Tool and Die maker, retiring in 2001 from Harvard Industries in Bryan, OH. Along with colleagues, he was an owner of a U.S. Patent for Method of Spin Forming and Part Made Thereof. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Junction, until it's closing and then joined St. John's Parish in Defiance.
Leo is survived by sons, Gery and Mark (Yolanda), daughters, Brenda (Tim) Leonard and Sara Fogt, grandchildren, Zachary, Austin, Kathryn, Cecilia, and Isabella Sholl, Eric (Lisa), Kyle, and Victoria Leonard, Clay and Sydney Fogt, great-grandchildren, Aria, Eli, Ezra, and Harper Leonard, brother, Vincent Sholl.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, parents, Theodore and Estella Sholl, siblings, Charles, Gerald, Catherine Cline, Joseph, and Walter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 7:30 pm. Due to CDC guidelines if you are not fully vaccinated a mask is required to enter the funeral home, and our lounge area will remain closed. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. John's Catholic Church, with Fr. Dave Cirata officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.
