Leo W. Rickenberg, 92, of Defiance, passed away on  Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born on October 7, 1921 to William and Alvina (Rosebrock) Rickenberg in Henry County. On August 31, 1946 he married Betty Kinzer.

Leo was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Defiance and UAW Local 211. He was a former employee at General Motors.   Leo farmed in his younger days and enjoyed fishing, working on cars and gardening..

Leo is survived by his wife,  Betty Rickenberg of Defiance, daughters Diana Rickenberg and Darla  (Charles Highwarden) Rickenberg of Defiance, and  sister Florence Jones of Napoleon, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  daughter  Debra Rickenberg, brothers,  Raymond Rickenberg,  Elmer Rickenberg, and Bill Rickenberg, Jr..

Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm  Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Stephen  Lutheran Church,  Defiance, Ohio.   Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday at the church with Rev. William Stottlemyer officiating.  Burial will follow in Ayersville Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to  St. Stephen Lutheran Church and/or CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
