Leah Helen Andrist, 83, formally of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on  January 23, 2015 at Country View of Sunbury in Sunbury, OH.

She was born on August 19, 1931 to John and Martha (Campbell) Scott in Fort Wayne, IN. On November 26, 1950 she married Wright L. Andrist, who preceded her in death. Leah spent her final years in Sunbury, Ohio.

Leah worked at Maumee Valley Vending, managing the Commissary for 34 years. She was a member of the First Church of God where she taught Sunday School, directed children's plays, and the Children's Choir. She was also a Girl Scout Leader.

Leah is survived by her daughters, Cyndi (Bob) Murphy of Reynoldsburg, OH, Sandi Andrist of Columbus, OH, & Jody (Dave) Cox of Gahanna, OH, son, David (Dan Henrie) Andrist of Columbus, OH, twin sister, Lela Runyan of Defiance, OH, brother, James Scott, her grandchildren; Ben (Julie) Sanders of Tucson, AZ, Luke Murphy of Columbus, OH, Alex Cox of Gahanna, OH, Clint (Jessica) Murphy of Lancaster, OH, Rachel Cox of Gahanna, OH, and Eric Cox of Gahanna, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wright Lehman Andrist, and brothers, Harold & Carl Scott.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015, 11:00 am at the Schaffer Funeral  Home, Defiance, Ohio, with Tim Smith, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Sherman Cemetery.
