Lavona E. Coressel, 79, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born on May 9, 1938 to Edward and Pearl (Spurgeon) Riebesehl in Holgate, OH. Lavona operated Royal Mart Carryout for over 40 years. She loved flowers, and enjoyed working outdoors. Lavona loved her family dearly, and she helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lavona will be sadly missed by her sons, Jerry Coressel, Jr. of Ney, and David Coressel of Defiance, daughters, Sonya Mesker of Defiance, and April Coressel of Sherwood, 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, brother, Melvin Riebesehl of Bryan, and former husband, Gerald Coressel, Sr.

In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her son, Eric Coressel, three grandchildren; AJ Coressel, Michael Coressel, and Aubrey Coressel, and fourteen siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Hebron Ministries in Defiance, with Pastor Vincent Cantu officiating.
