Larry "Jake" Zigler, 53, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his residence.

He was born on February 13, 1961 to Leland and Rosella (Petry) Zigler in Bryan.   On June 10, 1993 he married Trisha Owens.

Jake was a farmer as well as formerly worked in the automotive field.    He was a fan of the Tinora Rams football team, the Detroit Tigers baseball team and the Ohio State Buckeyes' football team. Larry loved fishing and riding his Harley..

Jake is survived by his wife, Trisha, daughter, Megan Zigler of Bryan, son, Jacob Zigler of Defiance, sisters, Teresa Zigler of Ney, Mary (Don) Ruffer of Bryan, and Brandy Janeway of Montpelier, a brother, Jeff Zigler of Montpelier, step-brothers, Dan (Ann) Scribner of Defiance, John (Candy) Scribner of Bryan, Mike (Julie) Scribner of Bryan and Rich (Cindy) Scribner of AZ, step-sisters, Cathy (Kevin) Dick of MI, Amy Scribner of Bryan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home,  Defiance.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Eric Peltz officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery - Montpelier, OH.

The family requests memorials be directed to the Tinora football program or to a charity of the donor's choice.
