Larry L. Plummer, 79, of Defiance, passed away on  December 18, 2021 at the Mercy Defiance Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1942 to Paul and Margrate (Boday) Plummer at Defiance.  He earned his Bachelor's Degree and worked as an Engineer and Supervisor at General Motors Central Foundry until his retirement.   Larry also was an Auctioneer and Realtor for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Flordia, Ohio.  He was hard working and enjoyed hunting.  On December 20, 1990 he married Joyce Dockery Plummer who survives Larry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; children, Matthew (Pam) Plummer of Defiance, Mark (Shari) Plummer of Scappoose, Oregon, Scott (Lissa) Plummer of Bryan, Janet Kelly of Defiance and Craig (Mandy) Plummer of Wintergarden, Florida.  He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and siblings, Ray (Dianne) Plummer of Warsaw, IN, Peg Ramey of Defiance,  Carey (Brenda) Plummer, and  Nancy Oberhaus of West Unity, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jason Plummer;  brothers, Robert, George, and Thomas Plummer; his sister-in-law, Betty Plummer and  son-in-law, Jay Kelly. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021, 2:00 p.m. to  6:00 p.m. at the Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.  A  funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio with one hour of visitation prior to the service, with Pastor Kurt Mews, officiating.  Due to CDC guidelines, if you are not fully vaccinated, a mask is required to enter the funeral home, and our lounge area will remain closed.
