Larry Lee Frank, 76, formerly of Defiance, residing in Hamilton Indiana passed away peacefully at his daughter Kathleen's residence surrounded by his family on Friday, March 11, 2016. He was born in Defiance on November 30, 1939 the son of Albert Christian Frank and Gladys Mildred Miller. He married Billie Kay Edds on June 11, 1961 and she preceded him in death on May 6, 2011.
He is survived by his son Larry A. (Anne) Frank of Defiance and their children Alexandra and Caleb Frank. Daughters, Laura (Dennis) Jewell of Defiance, and their children Kelly Reigle and Angela Steiner, and daughter, Kathleen (Alan) Nicely of Hamilton, IN and their children, Jennifer Powell, and Jeremiah and Jacob Nicely. Great grandchildren include, Grant, Blake, and Kayleigh Powell, Alayna, and Brody Reigle, Aaden, and Emmrey Nicely, and Matthew and Waylon Steiner. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Billie in 2011, and a brother Albert Gottfried Frank in 2011.
Larry was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Defiance and served as a Stephen's minister, was one of the founders of the Defiance Athletic Club; judged in many national Golden Glove's boxing tournaments, and enjoyed hunting for arrow heads. Larry also sold life insurance in Defiance with the Western & Southern Life Insurance Company for 36 years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16th at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 11:00 am with the Rev. Joe Payne, Rev. Carol Retcher, Rev. James Fry, and Rev. Robert Fry officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schaffer Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 15th, from 2-8 pm and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
