Larry Bryant, 78, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday evening, March 12, 2016, surrounded by his family in Toledo Hospital.
Larry was born in Sandusky on July 2, 1937, the son of the late Edward and Alice Bryant. He married Rosie Wieland on June 18, 1960. He is survived by a son Scott, his wife CeeCee Bryant of Chillicothe, daughters: Lori Bryant and Dodi and her husband Darren Thompson of Defiance. A brother, David Bryant of Toledo.
He adored his grandchildren: Tyler Bryant of Chillicothe, Mitchell, Spencer and Elizabeth Thompson of Defiance and also his two pals Murphy and Sammy.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers.
Larry was a member of the VFW #3360, Eagles, Moose and American Legion.
Larry was a Barber in Defiance for 53 years, enjoying each and every day. He was in the military serving in Korea as a Hawk Missile Operator.
Larry also served as City Councilman, representing his ward was one of his proudest positions.
He and Rosie opened Toms Donuts in Defiance in 1986.
He loved to fish and enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.
Viewing will be at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-5 and 6-8 and one hour before the funeral.
services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., March 16, at Lawson-Roessner with Pastor Joe Payne of St. Paul's Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Suggested memorials are to St. Pauls United Methodist Church or the Defiance Humane Society.
