Obituary

Kurt N. Bachellor Kurt Nolan Bachellor, 59, of Defiance, passed away Saturday, January 6th, 2018. He was born in Defiance, on September 14, 1958, he was the son of the Roland and the late Dorothy (Mack) Bachellor. Kurt was a devoted husband, father and brother. Kurt saw the positive in people and always lived life to the fullest. He had a heart of gold. He taught his many nieces and nephews how to water ski and knee-board. He especially enjoyed riding his 1937 Harley Davidson, boating on the river and snowmobiling. He was best known as Uncle Kurt. He will be sadly missed by his 4 legged companions: Sparkle and Teddy. Kurt was the husband of Ann (Relyea) Bachellor whom he married August 10, 1990. He was a 1978 graduate of Defiance High School and retired from the Campbell's Soup Co. after 25 years. Kurt will be greatly missed by his wife of 27 years, Ann, daughter Hayley Bachellor of Defiance, son Nolan Bachellor of Defiance, sisters: Helene Fillman of Thermopolis, Wyoming, Celeste Marroquin of Defiance, Greta (Tom) Porter of Defiance, Lynn Moss of Mark Center, father Roland Bachellor of Deerfield, Florida. 3 nieces, 10 nephews, 12 great nieces and 14 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and brothers in law: Mike Fillman and Bill Fillman. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12th, with Father Eric Mueller officiating. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Thursday at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Suggested memorials are to the family.
