Kevin P. Wichmann, 61, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

He was born on June 2, 1964 in Defiance, the son of the late Norman and Joyce Wichmann.

Kevin married Valerie Cooksey on July 9, 2011 in Defiance, and she survives.

Kevin served in the U.S. Army from 1984-1992. He was a certified welder for several years, working on special jobs all over the United States. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing dominoes and hanging out with friends. Every Saturday night, he looked forward to playing Scrabble with his wife.

Along with his wife, Kevin is survived by a cousin, Debbie (Rod) Lucas.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Yohe; niece, Nyssa McFaddin; uncle, Donald Wichmann; two aunts, Luella Wichmann and Carole Derrow; and his grandparents.

A graveside service will be held at Riverview Memory Gardens at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, with VFW Post #3360 conducting Military Honors.
