Kermit Preston Castle, 70, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday, June 30, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Area Hospice In-Patient Center.

He was born on August 27, 1943 to Barney and Ethel (Gillespie) Castle in Scott County, VA.

Kermit was a 1962 graduate of Ayersville High School.  He was a member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers for over 35 years.

Kermit is survived by his nephew, Paul (Mindy) Schindler Jr. of Sherwood, sister, Joan Schindler of Continental, niece, Mary (Chris) McClure of Paulding, nephew, Stanley (Chrissy) Schindler of Continental, nephew, Marty (Sara) Schindler of Continental, brother-in-law Marlon Hoop of Defiance, and 9 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronald "Wayne" Castle and a sister, Peggy Hoop.

Visitation is form 9-11 a.m. prior to the services at  Schaffer Funeral  Home, Defiance, OH.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at  Schaffer Funeral  Home, Defiance, OH. with Rev. Max Begley officiating.  Burial will follow in Ayersville Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
