Kenneth Wayne Seiple, age 73 of Defiance, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday morning, January 31, 2023 at the Laurels of Defiance. He was born on October 18, 1949 to the late Kenneth and Jeananne (Smith) Seiple in Defiance, Ohio. On April 24, 1971 he married Hedwig "Hedy" Lasek, who survives. Ken was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and Defiance Eagles #372. He worked for over 28 years at General Motors until his retirement in 2005. In his leisure time he enjoyed traveling, playing poker, fishing, cave hunting and painting. Ken loved spending time with his family and friends. Ken will be sadly missed by his loving wife Hedy Seiple, his sons, Joseph Seiple and Gary Seiple, and his daughter, Lisa Rodriguez, all of Defiance. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, his sisters; Patty (Bob) Gatliff and Lorrie Seiple, all of Findlay, OH, Marianne (Dan) Bohn and Lynn (Gilbert) Gonzalez, all of Defiance, his stepsisters; Yvonne (Luke) Wilcox and Carol (Art) Sauber, all of Defiance, and Beverly Hancock of Evansport, OH, his stepbrother, Dave (Mary) Steingass of Napoleon, and sisters-in-law; Mary Lasek of Michigan, Joan Lasek, Theresa LaForce, and Barb Lasek, all of Defiance, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Jeananne Seiple, and his grandson, Angel Rodriguez. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home South, with Deb Miller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
