Keith E. Stites Keith Eugene Stites, 75, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday, September 10th, 2014 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on January 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Floyd A, and Anna Margaret (Hiler) Stites. Keith attended Noble Twp. School and graduated from St. John's Catholic School. He also attended Defiance High School. He worked at various places, mostly at Dinner Bell until its closing. He enjoyed the outdoors especially coon hunting. His biggest enjoyment was Standard Bred Harness Racing. He was a licensed trainer. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and enjoyed attending St. Isidore The Bend location. He was also a charter member of the Noble Township Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Robert,Thomas and infant brothers Timothy and Joseph. He is survived by a daughter Rebecca Cheney of Ashland, Ohio, two grandsons William Stough and Jacob Cheney and a granddaughter Rhianna Cheney. Two brothers: Floyd "Skip" (Donna) Stites of Defiance and Fr. John Stites of Defiance, and several nieces and nephews A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15th, with Father John Stites officiating. Friends are invited to call Sunday 2-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
