Keith D. Steffan, 76, passed away unexpectedly in his home in Defiance, Ohio, on March 5, 2026. He was born on July 18, 1949 to Clarence and Phyllis (Unverferth) Steffan in Lima, Ohio.

Keith was known for his sense of humor, quiet nature, and took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

Keith graduated from Leipsic High School and earned an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A proud American, he served as an Army reservist. He then built a career as an electrical engineer and owned several businesses.

Beyond his professional life, Keith was passionate about the Detroit Tigers, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed music, singing, karaoke, corvettes, and was a loyal member of many local clubs. Keith is survived by his children; Tara Steffan, Chelsea Steffan and Sara Steffan, grandchildren; Tori Jones, Will Fox and McKenna Henson, siblings; Marlin (Peg) Steffan, Joyce Steffan, Mike (Tammy) Steffan and Roger (Chris) Steffan. He was preceded in death by his parents Phyllis and Clarence Steffan, and nephew, Kyle Steffan. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home, with military honors conducted by VFW #3360. Celebration of Life will follow at the Defiance Eagles.
