Kathy E Coressel, 58, of Defiance, passed away on  Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Cente

She was born on September 29, 1955 to Charles and Ruth (Turner) Meade in Dickenson County, VA.  On  December 5, 2003 she married Gerald  Coressl, Sr. after being together 32 years.

Kathy retired from Sauder Woodworking in 2001.  She was a member of the Moose and the Amvets of Defiance.  She loved country music and her two dogs: Prinny & Princess.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald, son, Joseph Thompson, step-sons, Gerald Coressel, Jr., Eric Coressel,  David Coressel, step-daughters, April Coressel, Sonya Mesker, all of Defiance, 2 grandchildren,, 23 step-grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren,  God-mother to Haley Celestino and Addisyn Hanenkrath, brothers, Gary (Teresa) Turner of NC, Danny Mullins, sisters, Wanda (Ray) Mendez, Darlene (Rudy) Celestino and Sandra Harbin all of Defiance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ronald Hostettler and 2 step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m.,Sunday, May 04, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Max Begley and Rev. Brent  Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, rural Defiance.

The family requests memorials be directed to the American Lung Association and to a charity of the donor's choice.
