Kathryn "Kathy" M. (Franzdorf) Browns, 50, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Defiance.

She was born on March 27, 1963 to William and Carolyn (Homier) Franzdorf in Defiance. On July 19, 2008 she married Kevin Browns.

Kathy was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She was a 1981 Defiance High School graduate, attended University of Toledo Medical Center and served her residency at Riverside Hospital, Toledo. Kathy worked at the Henry County Hospital as a Medical Technologist. She enjoyed many hobbies and interests including gardening, landscaping, scrapbooking and bike riding..

Kathy is survived by her parents of Defiance, husband, Kevin of Defiance, brother, Douglas (Sheila) Franzdorf of Defiance, mother-in-law, Marsha Browns of Defiance, godmother, Phyllis Homier of Defiance, and special cat, Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sylvester & Germain Homier and Alfred & Ida Franzdorf and her godfather, Marvin Homier.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-8 p.m. , March 03, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance with a vigil service being held at 2 p.m.
