Justin J. Marckel
Justin J. Marckel, 93, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday, September 17th, 2014 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born in Defiance, Ohio on August 1, 1921, he was the son of the late Charles O. and Ethel (Michael) Marckel.
He was a member of First Baptist Church where he had been a church trustee.
Justin served in the U.S. Navy in WW II, was a member of the Defiance VFW Post # 3360, had enjoyed bowling, water skiing and boating.
He married Helen (Desgrange) Marckel in 1941 and she died April 14, 1999.
He had worked as a electrician at G.M. Central Foundry for 33 years.
He will be missed by
daughters: Jane Mobley of Defiance, Karen (Ross) Boland of Sherwood, Kathy (Roger) Wanemacher of Napoleon,
sisters: Ruth Feeney of Defiance, Leona Horstman of Defiance,
He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, a son James Marckel, a daughter Jill Childress and a sister Iris Hostettler.
Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20th, at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St., Defiance with Rev. Tim Yazel officiating.
Friends are invited to call 2-8 Friday and an hour before services on Saturday at Lawson-Roessner.
Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens where VFW Post # 3360 will conduct honorary military rites for Justin.
