June Heller, 87, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Kingsbury Place in Defiance. She was born on June 16, 1931 to the late Ira and Cora (Belle) Belden in Renollet, Ohio. On August 26, 1950 she married Davon "Pete" Heller, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1996. June was an active and faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Defiance, and she sang in the church choir at St. John Lutheran Church in Sherwood. She was a member of  VFW in Sherwood, a lifetime member of Elks #147, and a former member of Eagles #372. June loved spending time with her family. She worked at Sears in Defiance, at Chief in Bryan, and was a Home Health Aide. June will be sadly missed by her family and many good friends. Doris is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ebaugh of Defiance, son, Doug (Cindy) Heller of Cecil, seven grandsons, and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Davon "Pete" Heller, and her son, Darwin "Pete" Heller. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 7, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church, with Rev. Donald L. Luhring officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sherwood Cemetery.
