Julia "Julie" Armstrong, 48, of  Defiance, passed away on  Monday, September 24, 2018 at her home in Defiance. She was born on April 5, 1970 to Gary and Carol (Smitley) Armstrong in Paulding, Ohio. She worked for several years as a home health aide. Julia enjoyed crafts and decorating, and she loved her dogs.

Julie will be sadly missed by her mother, Carol Armstrong of Defiance, brother, Jeff (Amy) Armstrong of Paulding, sisters, Lora Armstrong and Deb Schappert, both of Defiance, grandson, Draydin Armstrong, and grandmother, Geraldine Smitley of Hicksville. She was preceded in death by father, Gary Armstrong, and her son, Ryan Armstrong. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
