Juanita  Holbrook, 79, of Defiance, passed away on  Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at CHP Defiance In-Patient Hospice Center.

She was born on March 31, 1934 to Tivis McKinley and Julia (Dishman) Phillips in Dante, VA.  In 1952 Juanita married her former husband, Joseph Holbrook.

She was a housekeeper for the Holiday Inn & the Village Inn.

Juanita is survived by her sons, Larry (Betty) Holbrook of Defiance, Christopher (Faye) Holbrook of Defiance, Stanley (Connie) Holbrook of Defiance, Kevin (Stephanie) Holbrook of Defiance, daughters, Deborah (Lee) Richards of Montpelier, Lisa (fiance David Kagebein) Wolf of Norman, OK., 14 grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brothers, Lawrence Phillips of Albany, GA., Ardie Phillips of Dante, VA., sisters, Loretta Salyers of Dante, VA. and Belva Hall of Massillon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Joseph, brothers, Ulysses, Dereathus "Buster", & Arlette  Phillips, sisters, Jean Riner, Audrey Whitacre and Roxie Wallace.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m  Friday, January 31, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Sam Andres officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens.

The family suggest memorials be made to the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
