Juanita L. Badenhop, 86, of Defiance, formerly of Hamler, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio.

She was born on November 17, 1928 to Frank and Mabel (Parker) Bidlack in Lima, Ohio. On June 22, 1948, she married Donald F. Badenhop, who proceeded her in death on October 12, 2011.

Juanita was a current member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance, and a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Hamler. She was active in the RCIA Program, Altar Rosary Society, Engaged Couples Conferences, and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a graduate of the Toledo Diocese Ministry Program, a former member of Wide Awake Club in Hamler, and the 55 Plus Club of Defiance. She worked as a Teacher's Aide at Patrick Henry Schools for 10 years, and was a beautician at Katie's in Defiance in her early years, before she was married.

Juanita is survived by her sons, Fred (Dianne) Badenhop of Plano, Texas, and Tom (Brenda) Badenhop of Montpelier, Ohio, daughters, Mary (Rusty) Hoops of Napoleon, Judy (Bob) Heberle of Woodland, California, and Chris (Jim) Ferguson of Luckey, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Wanda Lou Badenhop, Hamler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mabel Bidlack, husband, Donald F. Badenhop, son, John P. Badenhop, brothers, Charles and Lewis Bidlack and sisters, Marian Deatrick and Lillian Beiswenger.

Juanita was a very loving and caring follower of Christ, and a compassionate servant to all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 2:30 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, with Fr. Todd Dominique officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Hamler, Ohio, at 2:00 PM.
