Joyce L. Herr Joyce L. Herr, 81, of Defiance passed away Saturday morning, December 19th, 2009 in a single car accident on Rt. 15 in Defiance county. She was born in Williams County, Ohio on December 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Florence (Gearhart) Throne. Joyce married John H. Herr on April 24, 1948 and he died July 20, 2001. She was currently employed by the Northtowne Mall working at their guest services desk. She had formerly worked as a school bus driver for North Eastern Local, at the VFW, Defiance College and Meijer's. She was a member of the Moose and VFW auxiliaries and St. John Catholic church. She had close friends that she bowled with for many years and had made several gambling trips with special friends. Her true ambition lay in caring for and loving her family. She always had time for us all. Surviving are a daughter: Jacki (Chuck) Wells of Defiance. a brother: Bud Throne of Defiance. Four grandchildren: Adam (Robin) Anders of Edgerton, Morgan Anders and Eric Anders both of Defiance, Mike (Andee) Wells of Bryan. Two great grandchildren: Caylee and Caitlyn Anders of Edgerton. Many in laws and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, a son John (Bunny) Herr, grand son Blake Wells, parents, stepmother Willow, step brothers and step sisters. Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 11:00 A:M on Tuesday, December 22nd, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Visitation is Monday 2-5 and 6-8 at Lawson-Roessner 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance, with a 7:30 P:M Vigil Service Monday. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Suggested memorials are to CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center or the Defiance County Grand Stand Fair Fund.
