Joyce Ann Commisso, 73, of Defiance, was reunited with her husband, and her heavenly father on Saturday, February 6th at the Defiance CHP. She was born on April 21, 1942 to Harold and Audrey (Lloyd) Frederick in Defiance, OH. Joyce was a self employed appraiser/real estate agent and owned 5 County Appraisal Services.  Was a Notary Public for the State of Ohio, former member of the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and did missionary work in Portsmouth, Ohio.  Joyce was a Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed watching her children & grandchildren at their school and sporting events, and scrap booking. On March 8, 1980  she married James Commisso who preceded her in death on July 25, 2011. Joyce is survived by her son, Doug (Angela) Commisso of Defiance, OH, daughters, Kristina (Trevor) Waldron, Julie (Roy) Plummer,and  Beth Lewis, all of Defiance, OH, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, and a sister Linda Frederick, of Defiance. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Commisso, a son, Bill Schnitkey, and a sister, Ruth Shoemaker. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on  Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am  with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
