Joyce Marie Frank, 85, of Defiance passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Vancrest of Hicksville, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 1, 1938, to Jay and Loretta (O'Bringer) Lehman in Lebanon, Missouri.  Joyce was a 1956 graduate of Defiance High School.  In her younger years, Joyce held various jobs, working at Hopkins Street Market, Goldenetz Super Market, State Bank, and Defiance High School Cafeteria.  Her strong work ethic and friendly demeanor made her a valued colleague and friend to many.

On May 26, 1962, Joyce married Richard "Dick" Frank, who preceded her in death on July 29, 2020.  Together they built a beautiful family.  After marrying, she devoted herself to raising their three children.  Joyce's family was her greatest joy, and she dedicated her life to caring for them.  She delighted in watching her grandkids, nieces and nephews playing and coaching sports.  She enjoyed gardening, canning and cheering on the Defiance High School basketball team, and the Cleveland Guardians.

Joyce was a member of Emanuel's Christian Church in New Bavaria, Ohio where she enjoyed volunteering at the annual chicken suppers.  She also enjoyed going door to door in her neighborhood collecting donations for various organizations.  Her commitment to helping others was a testament to her generous spirit and kind heart.

She will be sadly missed by her three children:  Mike Frank of Defiance, Cheryl (John) Davis of Hicksville, Tim (Patty) Frank of Montevideo, Minnesota; three grandchildren:  Johnny Davis, Taylor (Jason) Michel, and Gaven Buckmaster; three great-grandchildren: Sawyer, West and Finley Michel; brother John (Carol) Lehman, sister Janice Wiese; and by many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Audrey Davis, and brothers Jack and Jim Lehman.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Funeral services will immediately follow at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Bill Sigg. Joyce will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to Heartland Hospice or Emanuel's Christian Church.
