Joyce Mae Mekus (Daughenbaugh) passed away on August 15, 2018 at the age of 87 in Memphis, TN.

She was born in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Malcolm and Kathryn Daughenbaugh, and was the oldest of three children. She is survived by 4 children, Kim Mekus of Southaven, MS, Joe Mekus (Wendi) of Ft. Pierce, FL, Cindy Vanelli (Daniel) of Germantown, TN and Mike Mekus (Patty) of Vicksburg, MS; 8 grandchildren Amber, Allan, and Joey Mekus of Bloomington, IL, Anthony, David, and Christina Vanelli of Germantown, TN, and Victoria and Nick Mekus of Vicksburg, MS; 4 great grandchildren Nathan, Latrice, and JJ of Bloomington, IL and Olive of Germantown, TN; brother Richard Daughenbaugh (Penny) of McCutchenville, OH, sister-in-law Shirley Adcock (Larry) of Defiance, OH, brother-in-law Jerry Mekus (Judy) of Sherwood, OH, 10 nieces and nephews and Pepie, her loving dog. Joyce was very active up until the very end. She enjoyed walking, gardening, sewing, working puzzles, and coloring.

She is predeceased by both parents, spouse Victor F. Mekus, Jr. and brother Robert Daughenbaugh.

She will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance, OH on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Services will be held in the Chapel at  the cemetery at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Guardian Angels Pet Rescue.
