Josie Martinez, 67, of Defiance passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at her home.

She was born August 10, 1956, in Defiance, Ohio. The daughter of Melitón and Jesusa (Garcia) Rodriguez. In 1972, she married Baudelio Martinez, who preceded her in death. After marrying, she devoted herself to raising her four children. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and she loved spending time with her family. She loved to travel and listen to Tejano music. She was an awesome, loving person. She had so much humor and loved making everyone laugh. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Left to cherish Josie's memory are her three daughters, Rosalinda Lewis of San Antonio, Tx, Bernadette Martinez, Delhi, CA, and Florence Martinez, Porterville, CA; one son, Baudelio Martinez of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Norma Escalera and Gloria Assaf of Defiance and one brother, Juan Rodriguez of Defiance. She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Josie was preceded in death by her brothers, Rogelio, Jose A., Roberto, Fernando, Meliton Jr., and Ruben Rodriguez and her sister, Delia Estrada.
