Josephine E. Fick, age 97 of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Vancrest of Holgate.

She was born on February 8th, 1926 to Otto Melberg and Winnifred (McAllister) Cromett in Pine River, Minnesota. On July 9, 1943 she married Kenneth Fick, who preceded her in death in 2003.

Josephine enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and dominoes any chance she got. She enjoyed traveling and spent many of her years between Florida and South Carolina before moving back to Ohio. Josephine loved her family very deeply and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Josephine is survived by her son, Alan (Debra) Fick of Defiance, daughter-in-law Mary Fick of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, her sister Carol Burk of Pine River, Minnesota, as well as 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great- grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Kenneth, her daughter Melody Yeager, her son William Fick, her grandson Callen Yeager, and her sister Shirley Houg.

Services will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
