Jose T Ramos, Jr., 71, of Defiance, passed away on  Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

He was born on October 5, 1942 to Jose and Effie (Lopez) Ramos in Laredo, TX.  He married Hermelinda (Rivera) Ramos and she passed away in 2012.

He was a member of  First Mennonite Church, Defiance, and New Jerusalem, Defiance.  Jose retired from the City of Defiance.  He enjoyed fishing, cooking, eating  and loved being with his family.

Jose is survived by his sons, Jose (Suzie) Ramos III of Herbronville, TX, Alejandro (Valerie) Ramos of Arlington, VA, Michael (Fiance' Claudia Garza) Ramos of Defiance, daughters, Arabella (Mike) Springer of Avon, IN, Ana (Andrew) Esquibel of Archbold,  Dawn (Russell) Rios of Toledo,  Nida (Roel) Cepeda of Hebronville, TX, Norma (Robert) Trevino of Hebronville, TX, Sonia (Edward) Alaniz of Realitos, TX, Veronica (Liderando) Molina of Hebronville, TX, Teresa Ramos of Hebronville, TX, Many, many grandchildren, many,many great grandchildren, many, many great-great grandchildren and sister, Irma Hernandez of Fostoria, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Hermelinda Ramos.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home,  Defiance.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, 11:00 am at the Schaffer Funeral  Home, Defiance, Ohio, with Revs. Jacob Tijarina, Peter Flores and Alejandro Ramos officiating with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the family or to a charity of the donor's choice.
