John  Ray Clemens, age 59 of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital. He was born on May 30, 1963 to the late Clayton and Catherine (Burkhart) Clemens in Defiance, Ohio. John was a 1981 graduate of Defiance High School.  He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. He was a huge fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and Chicago Cubs. He loved listening to Gaither Gospel Music, and spending time with his family. John  is survived by his sisters, Deb Clemens and Mary Roehrig, both of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Danny Roehrig. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church in Defiance, with Fr. Jason D'Souza, officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to the to the family.
