Obituary

John Taylor Clark, 70, of Defiance, passed away on  Sunday, December 8, 2013 at St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born on November 30, 1943 to John B. and Ethel (Holinbeck) Clark in Appleton, WI. On October 8, 1966 he married Susan (Howells) Clark and she survives.

John was a veteran of the US Air Force Security Service. He graduated from the University of Toledo. John worked for Toledo Edison in Toledo and Defiance in industrial marketing for 23 years, retiring in 1993, then went on to work for the City of Defiance in Water Pollution Control as Pre-treatment Coordinator and Assistant Superintendent for 10 years, retiring in 2006.

John was a member of the Eagle Rock Golf Course and an advisor for the Northwest Ohio Junior Golf Association. He was a former member of the Kettenring Country Club, Toledo District Golf Association, Sertoma Club and the Quadco Non-Profit Board.

He was a lifelong avid Green Bay Packer fan and a proud stockholder in the team.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan, sons, Michael (Joan) Clark of Las Vegas, NV, Scott (Eileen) Clark of Plainfield, IL, grandson, Brady Clark of Plainfield, IL, and a brother, Curtis Clark of Spring Hill,, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Glenn Opperman.

A memorial service will be held on December 30 at 11:00 am at Grace Episcopal Church, with Pastor Don Leckrone officiating. There will be no visitation.

The family request memorials be given to the American Cancer Society or to a charily of the donor's choice.
