JoeAnn R. Foor, 84, of Defiance, passed away peacefully in her sleep JULY 27, 2016 at her residence, Brookview Healthcare Center. JoeAnn was born in Defiance, Ohio on July 14, 1932 to the late Boyd and Thelma (McGrath) Wiseman. JoeAnn married her high school sweetheart, Thomas W. Foor on December 2, 1950. Thomas passed on August 5, 993. JoeAnn retired in 1996 after 21 years of service with the Defiance County Veterans Office. JoeAnn worked as the assistant service officer for many years helping area veterans. In her younger years, JoeAnn stayed at home raising 4 children. JoeAnn became a member of the Roman Catholic Faith in 1951 and was a member of the Christian Mothers and Altar Society where she served as President. JoeAnn also volunteered at St. John Catholic School for many years. She enjoyed her family, crossword puzzles and travel. Survivors include daughter Brenda Griffith, sons Steve (Theresa), Tom (Debbie) and John (Carol) 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents Boyd and Thelma Wiseman, husband Thomas Foor, infant daughter Elaine Marie, grandson Jason Foor and son-in-law Jerry Griffith. Also preceding her in death was brother Jim Wiseman and sisters, Wilma Bodenbender, Leona Sandys-Huber and Joyce Mohr. Services will be at Lawson-Roessner Saturday, July 30 at noon Visitation is Saturday, July 30 9:00am to 12:00 noon Internment will be in Riverside Cemetery. A special thank you to all the staff at Brookview Healthcare Center for their untiring devotion to JoeAnn and ensuring her last home was a happy place for JoeAnn. In lieu of flowers suggested memorials are to Holy Cross School Tuition Fund.
