Joanne Johnson (Mehring), age 93, went home to the Lord December 31, 2022. She was born December 14th, 1929, in Defiance, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Robert Johnson, parents, brothers, sister and son-in-law.

She is survived by her children Diane & Kathy, sister Dort, son-in-law Murray as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, numerous nieces and nephews and anyone who calls her Gram.

Joanne met Bob the love of her life in Defiance where they married and started their family. They later moved to Arizona and spent their time between the 2 homes.

She became a Nursing Assistant and worked for multiple different hospitals over several decades. Joanne loved spending time with her family, as many trips to Hawaii and the casino that she could, and always made time for shopping and dominoes. She loved to laugh and always said exactly what was on her mind. Her greatest passion was being "Gram" to everyone.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Diemer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
