Joanne Bonnett, age 87 of Defiance, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio. She was born November 24, 1936, to Wayne M. and Goldie C. (Yarrington) Crosser in Defiance, Ohio. Joanne graduated from Defiance High School in 1954. She was married to Albert C. Bonnett, who preceded her in death in 2007. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, P. Buckley Moss Society, Maumee Valley Car Club, and an active member and leader of Maumee Valley Girl Scouts. She also enjoyed participating in the "Red Hat Ladies Society". Joanne worked at Goldenetz Market, All Star Products, Zeller Corp., Koester Corp., and Arp's Hardware. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, crocheting, and playing cards and bingo. Joanne was very outgoing and never met a stranger. She loved being by the water, going to garage sales, and traveling. Joanne is survived by her children, Andrew (Christine) Bonnett of Greenwood, SC, Cynthia "Cindy" Bonnett (Thomas Easley) of Defiance, and Sheryl Jean (Bob) Lauer of Westerville, OH. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert C. Bonnett, her brother, Wayne M. Crosser, and her beloved partner for many years, Robert "Bob" Shock. Joanne's final wishes will be handled by Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at 529 Jefferson Avenue, Defiance, Ohio, 43512. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Joanne will be laid to rest at Sherwood Cemetery.
