Joanna Jacqueline (Hostettler) Strahm, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Van Crest Health Care Center in Holgate, Ohio. She was 93. She was born on September 22, 1925 to Joseph and Georgia (Fout) Hostettler in Defiance, Ohio. She was a 1943 graduate of Defiance High School, and was a life long resident of Defiance. She was truly the world's best mother and a wonderful, loving person. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

Joanna is survived by her sons, Richard (Sue) Strahm of Georgetown, TX, Philip (Diane) Strahm of Knoxville, TN, daughters, Sally Gerken of Defiance, daughter, Georgia McMahon of Knoxville, TN, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of  67 years, Dean Strahm, her three brothers, Joseph Hostettler, Richard Hostettler, and  John "Jack" Erhat, and her daughter, Sue Hinshaw. In accordance with Joanna's wishes, a small private funeral is planned for the family at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance.
