Joann M Harris, 79, of Sherwood, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Twin Rivers Care & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on January 1, 1934 to the late William and Marjorie (Leonard) Ripke in Defiance, OH. On June 4, 1954 she married James E. Harris, Sr.

Joann was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Defiance. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Joann is survived by her husband, James, Sr. of Sherwood, sons, Terry (Denise) Harris of Perrysburg, James (Cathy) Harris Jr. of Defiance, Richard "Rick" (Chris) Harris of Defiance, Corey (Nicole) Harris of Paulding, daughter, Michelle "Mick" (Tom) Curtis of Antwerp, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, sisters, Lenore Levy of Hicksvile, Pam Florence of Defiance, Pat Osborn of Defiance, Nancy Fedderke of Defiance and Brenda Ankney of Defiance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, William Jr., and Richard Ripke and a great grandson, Annican Curtis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Schaffer Funeral Home with Rev. David Brobston officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral service

The family suggest memorials be made to the Defiance Hospice or the American Cancer Society
