Joann L. Decker, 80, of Defiance, passed away on  October 12, 2016 at the Laurels of Defiance.

She was born on November 30, 1935 to Clarence and Julia (Jones) Benner in Eaton, OH.  Joann worked for First Federal Bank and later at Defiance County Jobs & Family Services. In 1979 she married James Decker who preceded her in death in 2007.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance, the AmVets, Elks, Moose, and VFW Post 3360 all of Defiance.

Joann is survived by her sons, Nicholas (Amber Hernandez) Decker of Defiance, OH, and Eugene Hardy of Cleveland, 4 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchild, and a brother, Harry (Jeannette) Benner of Fayetteville, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James J. Decker.

Visitation will be private.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 14th at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
