Joan R Yetter, 83, of Defiance, passed away Saturday morning, December 8, 2012 at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born September 2, 1929 to Lawrence and Wilma (Schlatter) Grime Sr. in Archbold, Ohio.

Joan married Virgil Yetter on February 19, 1950 in Archbold, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter Lois (Marvin) Retcher, Defiance; a grandson, Ryan (Evette) Retcher, New Albany, Ohio; a great granddaughter, Addison Retcher, New Albany; a sister Isabelle Boucher, Bryan; two brothers, Lawrence (Arlene) Grime, Jr., and Arden (Mary) Grime, both of Archbold.

Joan was a member of Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria, and worked at the J.C.Penney store in Defiance for 39 years. She loved to travel and went to many places throughout the United States and Europe.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 2 to 8pm at the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the funeral home at 11:00am with Rev. Edgar Briggerman officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Emanuel's Christian Church or CHP Hospice.
