Joan A. Wagner, age 89 of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on March 28, 1934 to the late Arnold and Marie (Watson) Wasserman in Defiance, Ohio. On May 1, 1954 she married Joseph W. Wagner, who preceded her in death on August 25, 2008. Joan was a wonderful wife and mother and was totally devoted to her family. She enjoyed traveling and going to casinos. Joan will be sadly missed by her family. Joan is survived by her son, Robert Wagner of Defiance, and her sisters-in-law, Leona May of Defiance and Rosemary Wasserman of Kansas, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Joseph Wagner. To honor her request, there will be no visitation or services.
