Joan B. Kissner,  95, of Defiance, passed away May 8, 2022. She was born March 16, 1927 to Clara and Calvin Clark in Detroit, MI.  Joan graduated from Defiance High School in 1945 and spent her whole life in Defiance. She married James R. Kissner of Defiance May 8, 1948. Preceding her in death were husband James, 1999. a sister, Pat Burkhart of Defiance, 2006, and special friend Don Pacey of Napoleon, OH, last year. She is survived by her brother, Donald (Bonnie) Goldenetz of Defiance.

Also surviving are her daughter, Diane (David) Rollins, of Angola, Indiana, Grandson Steven (Brianna) Rollins of Pleasant Lake, Indiana and great-grandchildren Gabriel, 18, Lydia, 12, and Daniel, 11, Granddaughter Kelsey (Christian) Darmochwal of Fort Wayne, Indiana and great- grandchildren Dana, 7, and James, 4.

She was a long-time member of St. John Catholic Church of Defiance.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Saturday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at St. John's Catholic Church, with Fr. Dave Cirata officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
