Jimmy Jo Crumit, 67, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his home. He was born on July 12, 1948 to Bernard and Gwendolyn  (Marsh) Crumit in Weston, West Virginia. On April 12, 1968 he married Minnie (Stewart) Crumit, who lives in Defiance. Jimmy was employed at General Motors in Defiance, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Defiance Christian Church,  AmVets Post #1991,  Moose Lodge in Defiance, UAW Local #211,  and the General Motors Retiree Club. He is survived by his loving spouse of 47 years, wife Minnie Crumit, daughter, Lisa (John) Hancock, granddaughter, Katherine Hancock, and grandson, William Hancock, all of Defiance, brother, Chuck Crumit, and sister, Brenda Sue Harrod, both of Clarksburg, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Gwendolyn Crumit, daughter, Jaime Jo Crumit, brother, Bernard Crumit, Jr., grandson, Nathaniel Hancock, and granddaughter, Emily Hancock. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2015, at the funeral home, with Pastor Perry Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.
