Jim Luna Perez, Sr., 68 , of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at  Mercy Hospital of Defiance.

He was born on August 31, 1948 to Alfonso and Susana (Luna) Perez in Wauseon, Ohio. Jim served our country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for several years at Xerox and Dana Corporation.

Jim will be sadly missed by his daughter, Natalie (Alexander) Ixcot of Defiance, son, Jimmy Perez, Jr. of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sisters, Agedita, Rebecca, Susan, and  Rosetta, brother, Rudy, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Susana and Alfonso Perez, and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will  follow at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with his brother-in-law Eli officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by VFW Post #3360 at 11:30 am.
