Jesse P. Sanchez, 88, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at The Toledo Hospital.

He was born on May 19, 1928 to Jesus and Maria (Palacios) Sanchez in Durango, Mexico. In 1952 he married Consuelo (Hernandez) Sanchez, who preceded him in death on October 12, 2013.

Jesse was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance. He worked at General Motors in Defiance, retiring in 1990. Jesse enjoyed traveling to different countries, music, and spending time with his family.

Jesse will be sadly missed by his daughters, Maria (Mike) Smith, and Letty Rankin, sons, Jesse Sanchez, Jr, Mario Sanchez, Victor (Tammy) Sanchez, all of Defiance, and Jose (Angie) Sanchez of  Texas, 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and sister, Guillermina Munoz of Mexico City, Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Consuelo Sanchez, sisters, Margarita Del Campo, and Teresa Calva, and two brothers.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating.  Burial will  follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
